The Central beach

The Central beach is the beating heart of Hossegor. Located facing the ocean, it appeals to both families and lovers of surfing thanks to its vibrant atmosphere and its stunning views of the Atlantic. The naturist beach of Hossegor

The beach of la Graviere

The beach of la Graviere is without doubt the most legendary of Hossegor. Renowned the world over for its powerful waves and tubular, it attracts the best surfers in the world, including in prestigious competitions. Real spot of legend, it is considered as one of the jewels of the cote landaise for fans of strong sensations.

But the Gravel is not just for surfing. His vast ribbon of golden sand, bordered by dunes and pine trees, is a place that is wild and spectacular, ideal to admire the Atlantic ocean in all its force. The beach Park

Located at the edge of the sea lake of Hossegor, the beach Park is one of the favorite places of the families. The range of the Cork Oak

Nestled on the south-eastern shore of the sea lake, the beach of the Cork Oak is a true haven of tranquility. Lined with trees that give it its name, it offers a comfortable, shaded and soothing, ideal for relaxing in summer. Its calm and shallow waters make it a beach that’s perfectly suited to children, but also to all those who are looking for a safe bathing.

Labeled Handiplage the range of Cork Oaks guarantees accessibility for people with reduced mobility. There is also a first aid station in the season, as well as outreach services to more comfort.

Between family bathing, enjoy a walk around the lake and moments of rest under the trees, this beach seduced by its charm and its friendly atmosphere.

The accessibility of beaches

A Tiralo is available to hourly monitoring :
– to theocean, to the South beach during theentirety of the season
– to the lake, the White beach July 4 to August 23, and the range of the cork Oak from 13 June to 3 July and from 23 August to 13 September,

The South beach and the White beach ofHossegor have obtained the label Handiplage. To facilitate the access of disabled people to the activities and recreation of the beach, they were equipped witha ramp ofaccess to standards, showers and toilets adapted as well as da tiralo available in the hours of monitoring (from 12: 30 to 18: 30 for the beach White and 11h to 19h for the South beach in July and August).

FAQ

The beaches ofHossegor are monitored dApril to October. Swimming is possible all year round in the marine lake of Hossegor but is carried out under the responsibility of the users. To find out more on the alert ranges, cis here.

Fishing is allowed only outside of the restricted areas.

In Hossegor, the tides follow the rhythm of the Atlantic ocean, with two high tides and two low tides per day. The amplitude varies according to the coefficients : it is more important during high tides. The marine lake of Hossegor is also subject to tides, but more soft, and slightly shifted in relation to the ocean.

Has Hossegor it is possible to play beach volleyball on the beach of the cork oak forests in member of theassociation Hossegor Beach Family. A membership fee of 10€ will be requested for theyear. 

On the beaches ofHossegor, dogs are permitted outside of the regulated area wherethey are kept on a leash. 

There are free car parks close to the main access to the beaches, often located at a few minute walk or bike ride. In the summer, they can be quickly saturated, it is advisable to arrive early or focus on the bike and the free shuttles.

The car parks are distributed near the ocean beaches (e.g. Central beach, South beach) and the beach of the lake (e.g., Cork Oak, Rey, Park), with access laid out to facilitate the arrival of visitors.

Yes, there may be a jellyfish at Hossegor, especially in the summer and depending on the conditions of wind and current. Their presence is erratic and variable from one year to another.

In the event of an alert, the swimming can be occasionally not recommended on certain areas, but this is not a permanent feature.

To ensure the safety of swimming on the beaches of the municipality, you must follow the safety instructions of the lifeguards lifeguards and swim imperative between the red and yellow flags when the beaches are monitored.
